Icon Infiltration for early caries. No Drills

Early incipient caries are usually in what we call "no mans land of dentistry" where we debate "to treat" or "not to treat". No longer do we have to pine about our options. With Icon Infiltration, Dr. Somefun can restore early smooth surface front teeth cavities and early posterior interproximal or what we call "in between" cavities without a drill. At Fun Park Pediatric Dentistry, we can promise to restore your child smile especially if he has tooth surface defects as a result of braces.

Unfortunately large or advanced cavities are not candidates for treatment with Icon Infiltration but we can promise that needle may not be needed as we are a Laser Dentistry practice.

Will this procedure be uncomfortable?

Not at all. This is a non-invasive procedure and one of the most comfortable restorations your child can have. There are no drills, no needles and we will always explain our process, demonstrate all our tools and then perform the procedure including your child as part of our team into the procedure

How long will it last?

Icon infiltration procedure is durable, natural-looking, and effective. There is no set timeframe for how long the resin will last. It could last for several years or several decades. Having your child take care of his or her teeth will help to increase its longevity. Be sure to have your child brush with a soft or electronic toothbrush, so as not to risk eroding his or her teeth and the restoration. Your child should also avoid eating food that is too acidic and engaging in any activities that could damage his or her teeth.

Overall, Icon infiltration is incredibly effective. Your child's teeth will look both natural and beautiful once we are done. To learn more or to find out if this procedure is right for your child, call our Suffolk dental office at (757) 767-2767.
